More today is very different to when it was first launched in Dubai in the early 2000’s. It’s plainer and more placid now, more mass and less avant-garde. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s just not what made More famous – culinary funk. Thankfully the interior of this Murooj Rotana branch hasn’t been changed enough to be unrecognizable to fans of the original, much of the funkiness is sill there. The menu has changed too. It’s not nearly as diverse or extensive as it once was but maybe that is a good thing. They’ve still retained many of their classics like their tomato and basil soup and the must try red curry hamour.
Stir Fried Asian Noodles Super Vegan Salad
We had none of the classics; my wife had their Super Vegan Salad (really?), while I had their Beef Steak Salad (there’s nothing like meat in salad) and our daughter (who must have been Asian in her last life) had the Stir Fried Asian Noodles (which comes with spring rolls). I have nothing to say about the vegan salad, but my beef salad was actually very good. The truth is my wife enjoyed her salad too. The noodles though were meh at best. Service has always been a More strong point and I’m pleased to say, that hasn’t changed. Would I go back? Probably not. If I was in the Murooj Rotana area and wanted a good meal, I’d drive around the corner to Asian5…
