Lokmet Gibran is a Lebanese restaurant and shisha lounge in JLT. Even with shisha available, Zomato has it listed as kid friendly – wow! I was not too worried about how long the food would take to get to us in Arabian Ranches because I regularly order from Streetery in Cluster D – doesn’t take too long. We had out of town family visiting, one of who was a pescatarian, so I started my order with Grilled Hammour Filet before going on to Shawarma Meat and Shawarma Chicken – both usually big hits with the kids. I also ordered the usual salads and mezza – Tabbouleh, Fattoush, Hummus, Falafel, etc. Prices are reasonable.

The fish was not a good idea. It arrived visibly shaken by the ride and was tepid in temperature at best. In fact, everything looked like our delivery rider had gone for a stint of motocross with his bike on the way over. Nothing was as hot as it should have been either – hmm. It was late, everyone was hungry so no one really noticed or minded….except me. That aside, the food itself was really good. As expected, the kids loved the shawarmas and the ladies, the salads. I made a delicious meal of the falafels dipped in hummus.
There are too many good Lebanese restaurants in Motor City for me to risk ordering from Lokmet Gibran again. If, however, I find myself in Cluster W, I may just give them another try.
