The Restaurant is the Address Hotel’s signature in-house restaurant in much the same way The Daily is for the Rove or Mr. Toad’s Pub & Kitchen is for the Premier Inn franchise. Famous for its Friday brunch and business lunch, it’s also where ones goes to have breakfast when staying at the Address, in this case the Address Downtown. Whilst not nearly as grand as the original at the Address Boulevard with its unique ‘apartment’ interior design concept, this branch is also handsomely decorated.

If you are used to the excesses of Dubai’s OTT breakfast buffet culture, the breakfast buffet at The Restaurant will definitely disappoint you. It’s tiny in comparison to most and – sacré bleu – doesn’t even have a live cooking station; instead one orders eggs or whatever from a special breakfast menu. And you can only do this once you have returned to your table. I felt this disrupts the natural flow of the buffet.

Service was always going to be 5-star, this is the Address after all, and it didn’t disappoint. I found the staff friendly and accommodating but, because this is really only a half buffet, I found myself continuously asking the staff for something. I love the ambiance of the Address Downtown and have meetings in its beautiful lobby regularly but breakfast? Nah, this’ll be my last time. I prefer to look the chef in the eye when I order my masala omelette.
