The Ninth Sports Café is actually a small gastro-bar (rather than gastro-pub as it’s American) on the ground floor of the Trump International Golf Club in DAMAC Hills. The whole complex, located in the Al Hebiah Third District, Mudon is something of a mini-adventure to get to as the roads have not all been completed; so, coming there in your brand-new Lamborghini Aventador is not advisable. Once there though, The Ninth presents you with an elegant interior with a ceiling to floor glass façade overlooking the golf course. There’s also an expansive terrace where shisha is served.
The Ninth’s menu is made up of typical clubhouse favourites from salads to pizzas (which come from the woodfired oven of The Terrace next door) to burgers and steaks. There’s something (casual) for everyone. My son thought it would be a kick to try the giant Trump Burger. “I know why they call this the Trump Burger”, he said halfway through, “you have to have a mouth as big as Trump’s to eat it” – ha! My salad, good as it was, was not nearly as entertaining.
Service at The Ninth is excellent; warm, hospitable and infinitely accommodating. So, if you’re looking for an off the beaten track, in the middle of nowhere, five-star bar to enjoy a drink or a light meal or simply have some shisha, The Ninth may just be for you. Just remember not to come in your Aventador.
