Butch Annie’s is all about burgers, ribs and beer. Their burgers and ribs are amazing. Their craft beers are a bit of an acquired taste for the likes of us desert folk. I didn’t like any of the ones I tried, preferring the more mainstream drafts (which, for some unfathomable reason, aren’t available).
The down-in-the-basement, slightly grungy Hillbilly look they’ve got going works to create the right ambience for the food they serve.
We tried a number of items off their menu from the Classic Butch to the Smoky Joe to the Jack, and all agreed the Classic Butch was the best. The truth is all their burgers are really good. So too are their baby back ribs. Are the Rosemary Chips £3 good? I didn’t think so. If you like Indian Bajias then you will also like what they call Onion Popcorn. None of us liked it, feeling it was not a taste which blended well with the rest of our meal.
Service is about par for the UK, basically a one man/woman show…always stretched…and showing it. That said, for the quality of their burgers and ribs alone, this is a burger joint well worth a visit.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
