Reviews suggest Sheikh & Shake is this super special burger joint in Cluster R of JLT. Having dined there, I honestly don’t see what the fuss is about. Service is good, I’ll give it that. But to suggest their burgers are anything but average is a stretch of the imagination.
I found their interior amateurish at best.
I tried their signature Super Sheikh burger, which is a big boy, loaded with two chunky meat patties. Eat one of these, and you won’t need another meal until the same time tomorrow. And at AED42 it represents pretty good value for money.
So, what, I hear you ask, is the problem? The problem is that a McDonald’s Clubhouse tastes better and is almost half the price – that’s what!
I was expecting a Sheikh burger to be rather more special; remember, Moylo’s, Rebel, SALT, and even the almighty Blaze (to name but a few) are all home-grown regional concepts. And each have some very, very special burgers.
Service is a Sheikh strongpoint. Our order was taken by a grumpy-looking Filipino lad who surprised us by turning out to be extremely friendly, and our food was ready within a couple of minutes. So if you’re really hungry, either order two McDonald’s Clubhouses or a Super Sheikh burger at Sheikh & Shake.
