Bait Maryam in Cluster D is one of the best restaurants in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT). In fact, it’s one of my favourite Lebanese restaurants in Dubai. I’ll take that a step further even, it’s one of the best restaurants I’ve visited (and I’ve visited a few) in Dubai this year – period. Much of Bait Maryam’s warm and fuzzy feel-good factor comes from chef Salam Dakkak, who makes a point of coming out and interacting with her customers. Her elder-sisterly, almost motherly demeanour is so genuine and heartfelt you literally want to curl up on a sofa beside her and ask her to tell you a story. And in a way, she does tell a story – a culinary story.
The interior of Bait Maryam is a beautiful, homely affair. It is an environment which one is instantly comfortable with.
The food at Bait Maryam is the closest you’ll get to home cooked in a restaurant. I particularly liked the Kafta in Tahini sauce. And also, the Green Beans Stew, dish of the day. In fact, everything out of Salam’s kitchen is superb.
Service is excellent; genuinely friendly, accommodating and fast. Bait Maryam is an amazing little Lebanese restaurant, well worth a detour.
