Long Teng is, without doubt, the BEST authentic Chinese seafood restaurant in Dubai. Located in the U Bora Towers in Business Bay, this handsomely decorated restaurant spans three full floors and is decorated to appeal to the Chinese business class. And as such, the first floor incorporates private dining areas which can accommodate groups of ten, all the way up to two hundred – yes, two hundred. On the second floor, there is a section for traditional hot pot as well as a shisha lounge. But sadly, owners Sun Tour have not managed to obtain an alcohol license.
The food at Long Teng is superb. Don’t be fooled by the ‘seafood’ in their name, with the exception of pork, almost every other protein conceivable is available. Of course, you will have the gates of Xanadu opened to you if you are a seafood lover. Yes, the seafood section is pretty amazing and includes tanks of fresh seafood and exotica.
If you are a novice you might want to consider seeking out marketing executive, Mona Wang (no relation to Vera) who will guide you through Long Teng’s extensive menu, and help you order. Mona can also be reached on 0558983905, and can also help you with booking, etc. In fact, it was Mona who placed our order.
Everything brought to our table was amazing, everything. Stand-outs for me were the Steamed Prawn Red Rice Rolls, Live Scallop, Sautéed Sea Snails with Mushrooms, and the Sautéed Beef Fillet with Dragon Fruit.
The Steamed (live) Hamour could have done with a little more zing, but it was lovely none the same.
Service is excellent; friendly, efficient and accommodating. Oh, and fast. There are very few restaurants of this calibre in the Middle East. Don’t take my word for it, ask the Chinese…who flock there every day. Long Teng Seafood Restaurant, well worth a detour.
