Pak Liyari is much more than just another value for money Pakistani biryani specialist, it’s a Dubai institution. @the.hungry.tourist is just one in a long list who think it’s the best biryani you can get in Dubai. Sheikh @mansoormadani feels they have the best kababs. I can’t think of a single person who has been to this modestly appointed chain of restaurants and not been impressed. This branch in Meena Bazaar is located behind the venerable Astoria Hotel and includes an upstairs family dining area. Its interior is brightly lit and surprisingly clean for a restaurant with this sort of throughput.
Interior A view from the street…that’s The Hungry Tourist and Sheikh Mansoor Upstairs dinng area Full Masala Mutton Biryani – yes folks, this is what all the fuss is about The holy trinity Brain Masala
I mostly only order the full masala mutton biryani (double if you dare) and a channa daal, but we add a brain masala to this when The Hungry Tourist is with us. I’ve also tried the keema, mutton karahi and the bhindi – all good and worth ordering. As mentioned above, Shaikh Mansoor swears by their kebabs (or Bar B Q as they call it), the mutton tikka in particular. I would therefore consider ordering it too. But the rock star of the menu and the reason you should be there is (and always will be) the intensely flavoursome biryani. Service is surprisingly friendly and accommodating. Worth a detour.
