OUIBar + Terrace is the all-day dining restaurant at the super funky Radisson RED in Dubai Silicone Oasis – DSO. It’s one of those places which does a metamorphosis from day-time caterpillar to night-time butterfly so successfully that I almost didn’t recognise it at night – almost. And that’s mainly because of its lovely terrace, which really comes into its own – now – from the onset of cooler weather.
The breakfast at OUIBar is as unspectacular as can be expected from a budget hotel. That said, it’s five-star in comparison to the processed powered gruel one gets in the European equivalent. OUIBar is worth a visit in the evenings, especially on the last Tuesday night of every month when it hosts a really fun comedy night. Drinks are incredibly well priced – a pint of Amstel costs AED20 and all other drafts are AED25 – amazing. The spirits are similarly priced. Note: I’m not sure if these prices were for that night only or their regular pricing – please check. My friends and I didn’t try their mains, choosing instead an assortment of “munchies” such as loaded fries, fried calamari and chicken wings to accompany the copious amount of beer we giggled through.

Super service was the surprise of the evening. The staff are genuinely friendly and Radisson professional. So, here again I find myself using the term hidden gem to sum up this little watering hole in DSO. There really isn’t anything quite like it in the area. Oh, and the red neonish hue outlining the entire establishment works any which way you want it to…sexy, romantic, devilish or simply different to anything else out there. OUIBar + Terrace – well worth a visit.
