Miyabi is a homegrown brand of Japanese restaurants with no less than five branches in Dubai, including the one we ordered our home-delivery from in Dubai Media City. I must admit to being skeptical about ordering a home delivery of sushi, fearing that it would not travel well. But my son, an avid sushi lover and a fan of this specific branch of Miyabi, assured me it would be perfectly fine. In the US, a father-son boys night in-front of the TV (when the girls are out) usually involves a bucket full of fried chicken and/or buffalo wings. In Dubai we order sushi – and lots of it.

We ordered an Addict Box Combo and Prime Box Combo to be precise. Combined, that’s nearly 50 pieces of sushi – what can I say? the gluttony runs strong in our family. Our order arrived well within the promised hour and was beautifully packed with ice packs lining the top and bottom of the parcel; the sushi itself was in sturdy, compartmentalized boxes like those you get in expensive confectionery stores like Vivel.

Prime Box Combo
I’m not big on cooked or fusion sushi, both of which accounted for most of our order. But you know what? sometimes you need to take your anal opinion about things, especially food, and park it outside least you allow it to spoil the moment. And there are few moments more precious than father-son boding in-front of the TV while pigging out on sushi. In that context, I loved every single one of dozen+ pieces I managed to eat…and not a single piece went to waste.
