Taza is the epitome of this region’s farm to table concept. It’s also how it lives up to its namesake – fresh. I love Taza and have only once been disappointed (not this time). Food buddy and restaurateur, @nicky_rr, entered two Taza chickens in our best roast/grilled chicken challenge the other week, ordering from their Ibn Battuta Mall branch. On the smaller size their birds maybe, but they’re consistently good – juicy, moist and packed with flavour.

There are several flavours ranging from Arabic (Rashaqa) to Indian (Tikka) to Filipino (Inasal) – each delicious in their own right. Personally, I like the original Arabic taste the best. Our order came with a fattoush salad and lots of that delicious tahina sauce. If only they had a chili sauce as good. Priced to compete with anything comparable, Taza genuinely is an irresistible value for money offering and well worth a try.
