Mughal e Azam (transl. The Great Mughal) is a Desi restaurant recently relocated from Discovery Gardens to the Zee Tower in Dubai Media City: @mughaleazamrestaurant. Either intentionally or by coincidence (which I don’t believe in), it shares its name with an epic 60’s Bollywood movie…of the same name. Two mutton curries from its extensive menu were chosen by one of the permanent members of our foodie group to participate in our recent mutton curry challenge, namely the Mutton Kadai Gosht and Mutton Bhuna Gosht.
This is how the food arrives Unpacked Either the Mutton Kadai Gosht or Mutton Bhuna Gosht Either the Mutton Kadai Gosht or Mutton Bhuna Gosht
Our parcel arrived on time, the food still warm. But once unpacked we couldn’t tell one from the other – they looked the same. And you know what? they didn’t taste all that different either, except that one had a strong after-taste of paprika; I thought maybe it was Rogan Josh. Neither curry wowed us and ultimately, they ended the session one from last. That’s not to say they were bad; they just weren’t as good as some of the others. Personally, I wouldn’t order from them again.
