Biriyani Wa Kebab is a family friendly Indian restaurant which offers so much more than the biriyani and kebab its name suggests. Located next door to thali masters, Rasoi Ghar, in the venerable Zainal Mohebi Plaza on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road, the restaurant is spacious, handsomely appointed and includes a party hall in the back.

Perhaps because we were sitting across the hall from one of my favourite thali restaurants, perhaps because a thali offers a sample of so many different dishes – my brother Kambiz and I ordered a non-veg thali. Although it (surprisingly) does not include any of their famous kababs, at AED35 their non-veg thali represents amazing value because it has no less than four meat/chicken dishes and comes with a meal-in-itself portion of delicious chicken biriyani. We enjoyed everything especially the Mutton Rogan Josh (which I will definitely go back for) and the Daal Makhani. I can safely say the food at Biriyani Wa Kebab is super.
This crunchy corn starter is unbelievable Superb Daal Makhani The desserts are amazing, less sugar Just look at that spread!
Service at Biriyani Wa Kebab is exemplary. We were looked after by a friendly waiter with an infectious smile by the name of Rahul. He and his well-groomed supervisor, Mohammed Junaid, made us feel like…um, their long-lost uncles. Together they pampered us with genuine, homely hospitality. It is worth noting that, if I tell the management or staff of a restaurant that I am a food blogger, it is only AFTER I have paid for my meal. This is so there is no special treatment. And that’s why I appreciate, all the more, the service we received.

So, décor: good, food: very good, service: excellent, which in my book makes this newcomer to the Karama culinary scene well worth a visit.
