I’m a sucker for restaurants with high ratings, especially small, home-grown ones which have recently opened like Back to Grills in Oud Metha. Occasionally though the high ratings don’t translate into what I expect. In this case the interior looked good, the service was good but blimey, the Korean BBQ Beef Ribs I tried to have for lunch today were served charred beyond edibility – nightmare. Just look at them:

Bad ribs day? Possibly but these boys shouldn’t have let something like that leave their kitchen in the first place. That was their first mistake. In all fairness, Mr Smiley Nice Guy (the manager or owner) did offer to replace the burnt ribs but having already waited a good hour for them to be served, I was all out of time.
A view from the street The while you wait comp was actually really good Interior
The second mistake they made was allowing me to pay for what was obviously a substandard meal. So, a double thumbs down from me. You want grills that rock? Head out to the amazing Meating Room in Karama.
