Namu is a Korean restaurant at the glitzy V Hotel Dubai in Al Habtoor City which has a crazy Thursday night BBQ brunch deal. It goes something like this: Dhs249 (soft drinks), Dhs349 (house beverages), Dhs449 (bubbly) – the first two are redeemable with Entertainer vouchers – hello baby! Located on the 31st floor, the restaurant’s interior is modern and highlighted on one side by a glass enclosed barbecue and on the other by floor-to-ceiling windows from where you get a magnificent view of the canal and city. When you call to reserve, ask for a window table.

Starters in this unlimited Korean BBQ include edamame, gyoza, sushi, salad and fried calamari. The mains are insane – beef short rib, lamb rack, salmon teriyaki, grilled prawns, chicken and more, and you can keep pushing the repeat button till you explode. The quality of the barbeque is unbelievable. Their Korean Master Chef, Wilson, and his team had the mains as perfectly cooked as I have had anywhere – easily the best in Dubai. Limit your intake of the starters (as good as they may be) because the mains are so amazing.

Service at Namu is as good as the food. We were looked after by a young lad from Kolkata named Chiranjit who made us feel like we owned the place. The restaurant manager, Jackson, came to our table several times to check if we were happy as did Chef Wilson. Service in Dubai is generally good, but this place was simply off the charts. Drinks too were replenished on the double. Don’t bring a car if you’re going for either of the alcoholic packages. The Thursday unlimited Korean BBQ at Namu could possibly be the best brunch deal in Dubai. Highly recommended.
