Asian5 is a restaurant franchise from the owners of the much loved (but no longer in existence) Lemongrass. This DAFZA food court branch, their second, is clean-cut and modern like the first, itself not dissimilar to Wagamama or Noodle House. Its menu is the same too and includes dishes from Thailand, China, Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia. There’s a proper section for vegans and vegetarians which includes red curry and laksa.

I ordered a Laksa, curious to see if it would be as good at this branch as it was at the original at the Al Murooj Rotana Complex in Downtown Dubai. My companion ordered the Pad Thai. And that it – this was a quick business lunch…which is what this branch is all about. Our food arrived in about 15-minutes. My Laksa was very good, the extra spicy I asked for making it punchy and pungent, just the way I like it. The noodles were really good too, these boys obviously have their Thai nailed.

Unless you get there early, there’s invariably going to be a line to get in – this place is very popular. Service is limited to the order taking at the front desk and delivery of the food from kitchen to table. Staff are super friendly and accommodating. Asian5 is without a doubt my favourite of the DAFZA eateries and well worth a visit.
