Burger Fusion is a burger joint at the Al Wasl Sports Complex in Al Jaddaf (no connection with The Burger Fusion Company in the USA). Next door to newly opened Sarhad Darbar, it’s a little tricky to get to; aim for the entrance of the stadium (Dubai-Al Ain road towards Wafi) and turn right. Miss the turning and you’ll have to do a full round to get back. Its interior is unique in that it’s designed to look like a laboratory, complete with a giant periodic table on one of its high-ceiling walls, beakers and test tubes with colourful bubbling liquids and staff in white lab coats. You gotta give them credit for ingenuity.

Its menu is not your typical burger joint menu either and includes salads, pastas and pizzas. I was there for a burger. The young lad looking after my table recommended that I try their flagship Infused Cheeseburger. What you’re looking at is a burger with a beef patty stuffed with cheese and topped with more cheese and sauce so it’s like a double whammy of cheese – yum. All their burgers come with fries. This cheeseburger is as ooey and gooey as they come. I got the feeling that kids would love it (as well as their Cheetos loaded burger). I liked it more than the burger I recently had at Skinny Burger not far from the stadium.

I question why this interesting little burger joint has such dismal ratings. Based on my brief experience there such low ratings are unfounded. As mentioned above, I think kids would love this place, but adults will as well. It’s well kept, clean and cool, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. While the burger I had there will not win any prizes, it was a good, enjoyable burger with novelty built in. And at only AED40 with fries it represents great value as well, especially if you’re feeding a car full of kids. This burger joint in Za’abeel is well worth a visit.
