I only write about food court restaurants if they are very good or, as in this case, very bad. This outlet, located in the Carrefour end food court of MOE, is one of seven Doner & Gyros branches in Dubai.

It had been a while since my teenage daughter force fed us German Doner Kabab and by the looks of it, Doner & Gyros looked pretty much the same. I ordered a platter with both meat and chicken, no fries and no fizzy drink (talk about discipline). Disappointed! It was as if fall-off meat shavings (the ones which accumulate on the bottom of the spit as they shave/carve the meat) had been collected and used to make my platter. The meat in particular was dry, cold, curled and grisly – not nice.
Disappointing… …mixed platter
You want a proper doner or shawarma, consider Dean & Deluca where, for a little more money, you will get an infinitely better meal. Bring shawarma into the equation and the Lebanese boys (Beirut, Karam, Al Halabi, Al Hallab, etc.) will be happy to oblige. I wouldn’t be eating here again.
