Il Borro Tuscan Bistro is a fine dining Italian restaurant at the Jumeirah Al Naseem Hotel. That was too much of an understatement because Il Borro was actually named the best restaurant in the city at the Time Out Dubai Restaurant Awards 2019 last February. Tastefully decorated inside and out its one of those restaurants which is as good to visit with family and friends as it is for business. Like all the venues at the Jumeirah Al Naseem Hotel it is very popular with both locals and expats, so a booking is recommended.
The food at Il Borro has a distinct rustic Tuscany touch which in my mind keeps it honest and believable. Some fine dining Italian restaurants are just a little too OTT for my taste. I thoroughly enjoyed my Ossobuco, easily one of the best I have had anywhere. Other notables were the Risotto with Porcini Mushrooms and the Tortelli with Truffles. The pastas were excellent too. Everything was good. In fact, our table sounded like the soundtrack from a porn flick there was so much oohing and aahing going on.

As expected, service was impeccable, very professional. But was it friendly? Yes, it was – very. I can see why it has won so many awards in such a short period of time. I liked this restaurant very much, but my favourite Italians still remain Scalini and Roberto’s. Il Borro Tuscan Bistro is however, well worth a detour.
