The restaurant graphics and interior suggest that this is an official branch of the Best Worscht In Town franchise from Germany. Located in one of the alleyways of the Al Seef old town (not far from Dunkin Donuts), this newly opened branch is tiny with no seats, only counters to eat at. In fact, that’s how most German sausage eateries in Europe operate so they’re spot on where authenticity is concerned. I just don’t know what they’re going to do in the summer.
Best Worscht offers two types of sausage, beef and chicken, both of which are fried on a hot plated, chopped and served with a choice of seasonings and sauces. The latter two being the novelty of the enterprise. These boys serve some of the hottest sauces in Dubai. I think everything above Firestarter needs to carry a health warning it’s so hot. Yet I am told there are people who repeatedly order their Currywursts with the aptly named Kiss of Death hot sauce – talk about S&M. The 100% halal sausages themselves are delicious and fried to perfection. After trying a couple of variations, I felt the beef sausage with Old School Curry and a drop of Bit More B sauce was the best. But you need to try the various combos yourself to find what’s best suited to you. It’s all a lot of fun and not so expensive.

On hand to help you make your choice (and cook your food) is a friendly, cheerful and infinitely accommodating Filipino gentleman named Ariel. My son and I tested his patience to the limit. Thank you, Ariel, so much for making our father/son outing so much more enjoyable. Back in Al Seef however, a new culinary adventure awaits all you foodies and lovers of German cuisine. Vegetarians and vegans rejoice, there’s sausage for you too. Best Worscht In Town – well worth a visit.
