Dubai is, without a doubt, the burger capital of the Middle East. Burger joints are a dime a dozen with new ones popping up (and closing) every couple days. So, you have to be different and very, very good to make an impact. She Burger by Shaikha Eissa is both. Located in the swanky Dar Wasl Mall on the Al Safa end of Al Wasl Road, She looks and feels instantly familiar and comfortable. It has one of those interiors which will appeal to families, friends and couples.
There’s a lot on the menu to distract you from the burgers, not least the Korean Short Ribs or the Poblano Teriyaki Tenderloin to name just two. We resisted the temptation, sticking only to burgers and fries – Biggy Munches for myself and daughter and a Mad Cow for my dearest wife. Now that the euphoria of She has finally died down, I asked myself as I bit into my shredded crispy potato filled burger, is this really as good as all the hype suggests? It’s good, no doubt about that but I didn’t dream about going back the next day as I did the first time I had a burger at Fuddruckers or Shake Shack or Blaze or most recently, Lads.
Service at She was friendly but, on the day my family and I visited at least, not at all attentive nor was it fast, surprising considering that the restaurant was at about 30% capacity. Perhaps they were having an off day. So, there you have it – She Burger by Shaikha Eissa – it’s good, not great but definitely worth a visit. Good job young lady.
