Food Chalet is a small, affordable, anything goes, multi-cuisine Indian restaurant located in the Summer Seasons 2 building in Jumeirah Village Circle. Its interior is simply designed, clean and cool (as in well airconditioned not the other cool, which is certainly isn’t). I went to try their Friday morning breakfast, happy in the thought that I could get a Dosa (like the sign said). You can but without Sambar. Really? And that just about sums up this little eatery, there are some things which are good and some which aren’t. My puris were good and so was my potato bhaji (which was precariously similar to the ‘masala’ from a dosa) but the chutney tasted like it was made from desiccated coconut and my ‘milk tea’ was…well, let’s just say it left much to be desired. Service was excellent, warm and friendly in that genuine South Indian way. That said, if you want a decent breakfast, I would consider other options.
