Socialicious is an amazing little Asian themed restaurant in Jumeirah Village. Based in the lobby of the Condor Castle Residence on Mu’allaqat Boulevard, the restaurant interior follows modernist trends set by franchises like Jumeirah’s Noodle House, Rhong Tiam at Wasl Vita in Jumeirah 1 and Wagamama. One side of the restaurant opens into the building lobby making it look and feel a lot more spacious than it actually is. There’s an outdoor seating area too…for later in the year.
The Socialicious menu includes a very decent cross-section of Asian favourites. But it was the Burmese Khow Suey my family and I went there to try…and their Ramen. Their Khow Suey is one of the best I have had in Dubai. If you like South East Asian Laksa, you will love this very similar soup.
The ramen isn’t nearly as good, especially the Chicken Ramen which uses a peculiar tasting cloudy chicken stock and coconut milk base. The Seafood Ramen is better, it uses a clear stock base. But the way they serve it is simply awesome.
Of the starters, we ordered the Shrimp Tempura was surprisingly authentic. In fact, surprisingly good is how I’d describe everything we ate at Socialicious (except maybe the chicken ramen). Consider ordering their Papaya Salad – it’s delicious.
Service is friendly and fast. This is the best of all the restaurants I have visited in Jumeirah Village till now and well-deserving of a hearty recommendation by me and my family.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
