Nurai is a super highly rated Lebanese restaurant and shisha café in Business Bay. Located at canal level of the West Wharf Tower, its waterfront view is as delicious as the food it serves. Split into two sections, Nurai is a big restaurant which has a fully enclosed shisha section and of course one dedicated (thankfully) for food. Its interior, and exterior for that matter, are tastefully done with as much focus on comfort as looks. Giant LCD screens throughout the restaurant make this an ideal place to…lounge.
Nurai’s menu covers many Levantine favourites, with a distinct bias towards Beirut. Everything we ordered was good, the mixed grill best of all (oof, ask for some of their fiery chilli paste to have with the kababs). But also, the must-try zaatar which we started our meal with. If I must crib, it’s that our Fattoush was too sour…but then, I am super sensitive to anything sourer than a sugar-free Haribo Gummy Bear, and say that about all but the mildest Fattoush’s I have.
Service is excellent. We were looked after by a petite Filipino girl who was as friendly and sweet as the amazing Lebanese Kunefe she served us. Her attentiveness and kid sister like chit-chat made our experience there all the more enjoyable.
This is a restaurant I walked into wondering how it achieved such high ratings, and walked out confident that every single rating was well-deserved. I won’t even take a point off for the fact that we had to pay for our valet parking. Highly recommended.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
