Forni Pizza is a small pizzeria in the Imperial Residence, Jumeirah Village Triangle. I’ve not physically been there, choosing instead to order-in (home delivery). First things first, the ordering process is a cinch; Kathleen, the young Filipino girl on the phone was polite, patient and well informed. She guided me through their menu making suggestions and recommendations as she described each of the pizzas I asked her about (there were many). We eventually settled on a Mexican because I wanted something spicy which wasn’t Pepperoni. I also ordered a portion of their wings, which Kathleen said were bestsellers (her universal adjective for good).
My food arrived 15-minutes behind the scheduled 45-minutes. This would not have been a biggie (considering it was the weekend) had it not been for the fact that both pizza and wings were no longer hot. Taste wise, I didn’t find the pizza remotely Mexican. It was more like just a pizza with minced meat and bell peppers on it. The wings were only slightly better. At least they were properly cooked.
There are a number of Pizzerias in Jumeirah Village, the best of which is delivery-only Pinza at the MAR Residence. Based on this Mexican pizza from Forni, my orders will be staying firmly at Pinza.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
