I’m still trying to figure out why this restaurant calls itself 800Thali. It can’t be for the Thali, because their Thali is, without doubt, one of the worst I have had in Dubai. In fact, what they serve is an insult to Thalis.
Their misleading name made me believe we were in for a Rajdhani, Maharaja Bhog, or even Rasoi Ghar style treat. What we got instead (after a near 20-minute wait) was…a joke in comparison.
And this was the second time I made the mistake of visiting 800Thali, the first was for breakfast some weeks ago – similar disappointment.
So, in the words of the late, great Amy Winehouse, the next time I’m asked to go to 800Thali, I’ll say “no, no, no.”
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
