Jones the Grocer is a premium Aussie café-style restaurant. Once the darling of Dubai, and now with no less than four branches, it’s hard to find anyone who has not been to a Jones. I find this big Manara branch the least laid back and relaxed. In fact, I find it has a very businessy look and feel to it, grey epoxy and steel, heartless and cold.
Thankfully warmth is provided by their friendly, smiley wait staff and servers. And the food is just as good. That said, the Smoked Chicken and Persian Feta Omelette I tried the last time I visited Jones for breakfast was something of a let-down, tasting anything but Persian.
But this is a one-off, as the food at Jones’s is usually very good.
Well worth a visit…at any time of day.
