I make no secret of the fact that I love Pickl. burgers and am ecstatic that they have (finally) opened their long-awaited branch at the Ribbon in Motor City – yeay! Although famous for their fiery hot chicken santo burgers, it’s their take on Shake Shack’s Double ShackBurger (without the excessive salt) which I like best. Aptly named the DBL Burger, this little beauty has double smashed chuck patties with real melted cheese and (optional) jalapeno pickles wrapped in a potato bun with their signature sauce smeared on the inside – I love it. But with Shake Shack sitting literally across the street in the First Avenue Mall and High Joint opening at Nicky’s Neighbourhood Food Hall in a couple of weeks, it’ll be interesting to see how this branch of Pickl. does. I will follow Dubai’s non-discriminatory ethos and enjoy them all…with a itsy bitsy teenie weenie bias towards the local boys.
