Burger Zoghali is a popular Iranian burger joint in Ajman. I don’t know whether intentionally or not, but it has the same name as a super popular burger joint in Tehran from the 80’s. The original Burger Zoghali in Tehran shot to fame because, as its name suggests, it grilled its burgers on charcoal or zoghal, hence the zoghali name. It was the promise of this association which prompted me to put the Ajman restaurant on my must try list. But it took no more than one bite of their mushroom burger to confirm that there was no association with the Iranian original whatsoever. I struggled through another bite or two of their over sauced burger before heading across the road for some Khodemooni kababs instead. Well, at least I now know where NOT to go for a burger if and when I crave one while in Ajman.
Interior A view from the street A burger and fries It looked like something had run over it… This wasn’t the result of delivery, this was at the restaurant After one bite…
