My family and I love, love, looooove fried chicken (say it with a southern drawl). Having tried just about every fried chicken option within a 10kms radius of where we live in Arabian Ranches, it’s The Boutique Kitchen we find ourselves ordering from most regularly. Ordering from? Yes, alas they’re just a delivery kitchen in Al Quoz. Not anymore, they’re not. The Boutique Kitchen has just opened its second physical restaurant, this time in Townsquare, Al Qudra – literally up the road from us. Their first, TBK at The Galleria on Al Wasl Road was just a little too far. While this is still a 15-minute drive, it’s manageable…especially when those fried chicken cravings come a callin’ (southern drawl again).

Located in the Townsquare Park not far from Caya, this new incarnation of Boutique Kitchen has a seamless indoor/outdoor design where two entire walls of the restaurant are open to the elements allowing indoor dining with an outdoor feeling. I’m sure it’ll be fully enclosed when the heat sets in. Its interior reminded me of an upmarket diner which I’m sure will appeal to all ages, especially to families with younger kids as there is a mega playground just in front of the restaurant.
If you have ordered from their Al Quoz kitchen or dined at TBK, the menu will look remarkably familiar (duh). We stepped out of our fried chicken comfort zone (for like two seconds) to order a salad to start and a hot-dog for me. My wife and daughter had a quick look around the menu and went straight back to the fried chicken. The first thing we noticed with the fried chicken was how much crunchier it was when served straight from kitchen to table. It really is quite amazing. The salad too was good, so was the hot-dog. Next, I will try their burgers (which I hear are really good). Pizza lovers will be happy to know that a full section of their menu is dedicated to pizza. Happy days!

Service was friendly and accommodating…although our waiter, obviously new to the job, was a little jittery and nervous. But what he lacked in finesse he made up for in exuberance. We’re thrilled to have one of our favourite restaurants so close to home. If you live in the Dubailand area, this is defiantly a restaurant you want to visit.
