Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is an American KFC wannabe. My last order from them came to my home in Arabian Ranches from their Motor City branch so I was surprised to find this one coming from Barsha South – isn’t Motor City closer? Honestly, I couldn’t care less where the food comes from so long as it gets to me on time and is still fresh and hot. And this order of a 12 Piece Chicken Family Meal with Shrimp Popcorn and Butterfly Shrimp Ala Carte got to me with both those boxes ticked.
This is how the food arrives A peep inside The fries are great I find the biscuits a better option to the buns I love the slaw – it’s amazing This is the 12 piece family meal – spicy (of course)
Okay, here’s the thing – my family are hardcore KFC (@kfcarabia) fans. The only fried chicken alternative to KFC they are happy with is from the Boutique Kitchen (@theboutiquekitchen) and maybe Chicks ‘N’ Friends (@chicksnfriends). So I knew they would be a little peeved when they found I had ordered from Popeyes (@popeyeslouisianakitchen) – again. The truth is that I love the slaw from Popeyes, and in all honesty their chicken isn’t that far off from KFC either. I’ll admit that it’s a little oilier, as my wife (looking for an excuse to put me off ordering again) was quick to point out.
Shrimp Popcorn Butterfly Shrimp Ala Carte
This time I decided to try their Shrimp Popcorn and Butterfly Shrimp Ala Carte, the latter being the bigger and more expensive of the two. If you like shrimp, either of them makes a good addition. Or you can order them as a combo with your chicken (which I later learnt). If allowed to order again, that’s exactly what I will do. I’m also going to see if I can order an extra portion of their amazing slaw – it’s to die for. So, there you have it – Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, worth a visit or a home delivery.
