Super Bowl Asian Café is a franchise of fast-food Asian restaurants from the same stable as Little Bangkok. There are currently two branches, the original in Cluster X, JLT and this one at the Discovery Pavilion mini mall in Discovery Gardens. Both are very well designed, obviously benefiting from the experience and clout of its bigger sibling. I was tempted in by the promise of a big bowl of Asian soup but found the all-you-can-eat Dim Sum for only AED39 offer simply too good to resist. The deal is simple, order as much as you want from the menu BUT waste and you are penalised AED3.00 per piece. Irrespective, with a diet looming, I got stuck in with a vengeance.

Start with the two sets, steamed and fried as they give you a sampling of almost everything on the menu. And from there order individually. The fact that I tried every single variety of dim sum is a testament to lengths I went to; except the rice, I didn’t have any rice, congee or prawn crackers. Why would I? The best are their Siu Mai (shumai) dumplings which, interestingly, they also have both steamed and fried – the latter are better. For AED10.00 more you can get unlimited drinks as well. This is an excellent offer. Couple that with friendly service and you’ve got ample reason to try these guys out. Next I’m going to try their soup bowls.
