Nene Chicken is a new South Korean fried chicken franchise which serves the spiciest chicken sauce in Dubai – hands down. It also has some seriously delicious fried chicken. Located in MOE’s Ski Dubai food court where Fatburger used to be (next door to Umami), the Nene counter is easily missed among bolder designs and more established brands. Look for it. It’ll be worth the find, I assure you.
You’re basically offered crispy, crunchy, beautifully fried chicken, bone-in or boneless, and then choose from the various sauces. Unless you can really take the heat (and pain) do not make my mistake and opt for the hottest “Freaking Hot” sauce – it is what it says it is and, in all honesty, should come with a health warning. I couldn’t finish mine. The Bulgogi and Swicy are far better alternatives.

Nene prices are surprisingly competitive against their natural rival, KFC. In fact, I think they’re actually cheaper and that says a lot because I think Nene’s chicken (and sauces) are much better than KFC. I say this knowing my family of staunch KFC loyalists will jump on my head the minute they read this. Give Nene a try, I don’t think you will be disappointed. Just remember to take care when ordering the sauce.
