I had such a feel-good breakfast at this McDonald’s that I felt compelled to write about it. Firstly, I love McDonald’s. I’ve loved it ever since I had my first Big Mac in New York when I was ten. I’m giving away my age, but the year was 1975 and the closest we had to a McDonald’s in London was…Wimpy (McDonald’s had actually just opened but my parents hadn’t yet taken me). Back to the present day; it’s 8:25am and I’d just finished registering my car at the ENOC Tasjeel Centre in Al Quoz. The reason I was feeling so chuffed was that the whole process, from start to finish, had taken me exactly 25 minutes – yeah baby! I walked out and those iconic golden arches beckoned…come to Daddy.

This is one of the newer, standalone outlets which has cash counters as well as unmanned touchscreens from where to order. It’s big and spacious and modern and clean and, at 8:30 on a Friday morning, total empty. I ordered a breakfast wrap meal which gave me an extra hash brown and coffee. I absolutely love their hash browns and (this will get me into trouble) think their coffee is better than Starbuck’s. I can’t begin to tell you how much I enjoyed my wrap; and yes, I know it’s like a hamburger patty in a wrap but who cares? I loved it. So, the next time you’ve finished registering your car at the ENOC Tasjeel Centre in Al Quoz, you know where to have breakfast.
