Intersect By Lexus was originally conceived as a lounge, a restaurant, a library and a garage space (on the lower floor) that would host Lexus concept cars. Designer Masamichi Katayama’s interior, although very modern and artistic, has enough automotive elements penned in to remind you that you are in a space created by a luxury car brand. Self-confessed car nuts, my son and I flipped when we first visited in early 2016. A credit to his original work, it still looks as fresh today as it did back then.
The Business Lunch at Intersect is one of the best places in DIFC to have…err, a business lunch. And that’s mainly because it is so much less pretentious than many of the other options. Perhaps I feel that way because I feel more comfortable in a “car” environment. Priced squarely in the middle of the fine dining segment, the 2 course costs AED 90 and the 3 course AED 110, the difference really lies in your sweet tooth. Although the menu is constantly changing, they usually have seabass in some form or another, which is what I always order and recommend. I enjoy the food here. There’s always something on the menu I can relate to.
Salad Soup Steak Salmon
Service is friendly and professional. But I find people smile at you more here. Again, that may be because I am more comfortable here. The business lunch runs from Sunday to Thursday, from 12:00 to 16:00. The restaurant, however, is open from 08:00 for breakfast every day except Friday when its closed completely. Happy hour runs from 17:00 to 20:00 (Sat to Thurs). I don’t know how Ramadan will affect all this. But I do know that Intersect By Lexus is a very special restaurant and well worth a visit.
