Brasserie du Park is a Normandy-inspired French restaurant at The Promenade, Park Hyatt Dubai. Located a skip and a hop away from the hotel’s exclusive marina on the Deira side of the Creek diners are treated to a picturesque view of Dubai’s iconic waterway and skyline. I was invited by a friend staying at the hotel to try their breakfast. The view, sitting out early in the morning on that expansive terrace, is quite breath-taking. It, in itself, is the best breakfast…for the soul.
The buffet at Brasserie du Park is laid out differently than at other restaurants. Here diners are invited into the kitchen, itself an integral part of the restaurant. I walked in and asked one of the chefs to make me an omelette. My friend asked for Eggs Benedict. My son, on another one of his famous diets, asked for poached eggs. Each order was quickly attended to by a proper chef – how cool is that?

The rest of the buffet was very much on par with what we’ve come to expect from five-star Dubai hotels, quality ingredients, beautiful presentation and huge variety. There’s a small section for pork cold cuts but I didn’t see any bacon or sausages. The ones I served myself were chicken, I think.
Service is excellent. The welcome we got was warm and inviting, and the wait staff looking after our table were attentive and quick to return with whatever we ordered. If there is one complaint, it is towards those pesky, thieving crows. But here too, the staff are experienced and have everything (where possible) covered or pinned down. I enjoyed my experience at Brasserie du Park. I don’t know what it’ll be like in the summer but while the weather is still good, if you have the chance to try this quaint French restaurant, I highly recommend you do.
