La Baie Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton in JBR is a hidden gem…of the five-star kind. Spread over a spa-like indoor lounge and bar, and an outdoor pool area inclusive of pool bar (I just love pool bars) it is one of the swankiest places in Dubai to unwind and relax. The music is fantastic, the DJ deserves an award. Pool bars and lounges aren’t famous for their food yet the fish and chips I had at La Baie was surprisingly good, better than many of the British restaurants and bars I have tried the same at in Dubai. And the fact that I could have my fish and chips with a pint of Estrella Damm made it all the better.

Our server was professional rather than overtly friendly which I found odd because everyone else at the Ritz-Carlton is usually so welcoming and friendly. That said, there was nothing wrong with the service. So, if you’re looking for somewhere upmarket to relax and lounge around at, especially in this beautiful winter weather, I can think of few places better than the La Baie Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton.
