Nonna’s (which means grandmother’s in Italian) is an Italian restaurant in Emaar Business Park, The Greens from where we ordered a pizza home delivery last night. First and foremost, let’s get this straight, Nonna’spizzas are not round, they are rectangular…just like in Rome and many other parts of Italy and Europe. I had my son and his Italian friend, Valerio, join us to help judge how good (and authentic) the pizzas were, and you know what? They’re amazing and so authentic they had this young man (also from Rome) homesick by his second slice.

We ordered Venezia (Pomodoro, Mozzarella, Prawns, Arugula/Rocket and Avocado), Quattro Formaggio (Four Cheese), Meat Lovers Supreme, Pepperoni and a Margherita. Although all were very good, we fought over every square slice of the Venezia and Quattro Formaggio.
Tabasco has launched a new Sriracha sauce in the UAE which we used to spice up our pizzas with; it has kick and tastes great without having too much of the garlicy aftertaste my favourite Huy Fong has. So there you have it, Nonna’s Italian Food Bar – well worth a visit or a home delivery.
