The Yellow Monkey is a Thai biased Asian restaurant which delivers to Arabian Ranches – yeay! Based in JBR, the restaurant delivered our order within a surprisingly quick hour, such that everything was still piping hot when the smiley delivery boy rang our front doorbell.

We kept it simple ordering only what we knew, Green Curry with Chicken, Beef Massaman, Chicken Pad Thai, Stir-Fried Beef with Broccoli and Stir-Fried Chicken with Thai Basil. To our (second) surprise not a grain of rice was supplied with this order. Guys, how else can you eat curry than with rice? Disappointed and famished, we quickly made our own sticky rice.

All of us loved the Green Curry and the you’re-not-kissing-anyone-tonight, garlicy Stir-Fried Beef with Broccoli. The other Stir-Fry, with Chicken and Thai Basil, drew mixed reactions – I liked it, but most others thought it had a mustard oil aftertaste and was too salty. The Massaman got a universal thumbs down, everyone feeling like the sauce was like something out of a bottle. But all in all, I liked the food. The Green Curry, in particular, was superb. Yeah, I think this new Asian restaurant is worth a visit or…a home delivery.
