The elevator which takes you up to the BOA Lounge & Club on the 32nd floor of the V Hotel in Al Habtoor City is the size of a small room. A friendly giant of a Sardar, who doubles as the elevator man on quiet weekdays, ushers us in. On weekends, when the club is open, he is a bouncer. Once up, a pretty hostess, dolled up in a full-length evening dress, barely acknowledges us as we walk into the lounge. Things are quiet on weekdays.
The Boa Lounge is all about the view – it’s quite stunning.
We were quickly seated by a cute, pint-sized Moldovan girl with an infectious, brace-faced smile and a flirtatious manner. She soon had our tongues wagging and our wallets on the table quick-fire ordering, what turned out to be, heinously expensive drinks; let’s face it, 90 Dirhams for a thimble of Patrón XO is downright criminal.
The music, compliments of a bored-out-of-his-mind looking DJ, was thankfully more Buddha Bar lounge than full-on BOOM BOOM BOOM club.

It created an almost sublime ambience – very nice indeed. In fact, if it weren’t for the drinks being so ridiculously expensive, I might be inclined to consider this place as an option for post-dinner chill-out. And pretty little Gabriella has nothing whatsoever to do with this opinion.
