Nine Squares is an increasingly popular Chinese hotpot restaurant in International City. Located in the French Cluster its interior looks anything but Chinese. In fact, if it weren’t for the giveaway hotpot cavities in the middle of the tables, one would be forgiven for thinking it was a trendy European bistro. It’s all very respectable and not at all like some of the other ‘authentic’ Chinese restaurants in International City.
The menu is (thankfully) pictorial making it easier to choose from a long list of authentic condiments to have with the spicy or non-spicy hotpots (I’ve found it’s best to order both). What’s also a relief is that all their friendly and accommodating staff speak fluent English and are more than happy to guide you through some of the more unusual items on their menu. There are many very good Chinese restaurants in International City and Nine Squares is one of the best of them.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
