Mamikonyan is a beautifully rustic-looking Lebanese-Armenian restaurant & café in the historic section of Al Seef in Umm Hurair. The restaurant is built on two floors, the second of which boasts an expansive terrace with a magnificent view of the Creek. We were lucky to have a lovely evening breeze to keep us cool as we enjoyed their Iftar buffet, which at AED99 is excellent value. Shisha is also available.
The buffet, a combination of both Armenian and Lebanese favourites includes two soups, a number of hot and cold mezza, half a dozen mains, including a huge dish of Quzi (chicken and lamb), and fruits and desserts. The quality of everything was very good, although I found the salads a little too sour (but that’s just my preference).
I found the all-Filipino service at Mamikonyan fantastic. Servers and staff were very friendly and attentive.
Valet parking is available; just remember to call a couple of minutes before you finish your meal for them to bring your car around, so you don’t stand around waiting (there’s a number on the valet ticket for this purpose). All-in-all, this is one of the better outlets available at Al Seef and well worth a visit.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
