800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria is a Los Angeles-based build-your-own pizza chain which was awarded the title of “true Neapolitan pizza” by the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana in 2012. It took Dubai by storm when it opened its first franchise at Me’aisem City Center a couple of years ago. My wife and daughter are HUGE fans. This MOE branch rubs one shoulder with another culinary sensation, Din Tai Fung, and the other with VOX Cinema. Talk about prime location.
The 800° menu is (obviously) primarily about pizzas but there are also burratas (must try), soups and salads to choose from. I don’t know how they do it, but their pizzas are in a different league to other pizzerias. Central to the 800° concept is to build your own pizza, and there are literally unlimited possibilities. Outside my own kitchen, I like things decided for me and invariably choose à la carte.
Service is friendly and accommodating. Boutique pizzerias like the newly opened (and totally insane) Akiba Dori, and Italian restaurant-based pizzerias like (also newly opened) Luigia in JBR aside, 800° Neapolitan Pizzeria is best of the franchises…and well worth a visit.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
