This branch of Paul, located on the Ground Level of Mall of the Emirates, is so busy it’s almost comical. In fact, it’s probably the busiest outlet at MOE bar one, Din Tai Fung. In typical European fashion, tables have been spaced so close together that it’s an (embarrassingly) tight squeeze getting between them. That and the claustrophobic crowd have been two of the three reasons I have not visited this branch.
The third is that you constantly have the people riding down the escalator looking at you and what you’re eating; I always look, and I assume everyone else does too. Anyway, I finally ended up having breakfast there when someone I have formalities with invited me. And of course, we had to be seated right under the escalator.
All this was soon forgotten when my Avocado Poached Eggs arrived. The food at Paul is really good. And to think, at one time I was a sceptic. Paul’s Salmon Eggs Benedict is very famous, and it is very good. But try the avocado poached eggs (medium run on the eggs). It’s excellent.
Service at Paul is beyond reproach; happy, friendly and efficient. The franchise is simply amazing, and it just keeps getting better. That said, where this specific branch is concerned, I will pass on my next invite there, choosing instead rival Le Pain Quotidien just a few meters away.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
