Kteer Tayyeb is a Lebanese fast food restaurant in Cluster C, JLT.
Located at lake level, it boasts a bright and airy interior, highlighted (in my mind) by a corner dedicated to one of the best collections of classic Nokia mobile phones I have ever seen (why is the famous 8110 missing?).

I love a good shawarma and boy-o-boy do these guys make some amazing chicken shawarmas (saj). In fact, the only chicken shawarma I have had which is as good (maybe a little better) was at Wafi Gourmet. My sister ordered their meat shawarma, which was good too, but the chicken was something else. The third in our group ordered what turned out to be a run of the mill mixed grill. We ordered salads and falafel to start. All were good but honestly, nothing to write about. Both the drinks we ordered were disappointing, the super-sour fresh lemonade with mint, and the milk-shake thick laban ayran.
Our table was attended to by two friendly Filipinas, both of who were surprisingly well versed in their menu and helped us order our meal. I was not planning on visiting Kteer Tayyeb. It just happened. Interestingly, I had visited a branch of Kababji in Motor City the day before and found them both disappointingly similar. If I had to choose between the two, it would be Kteer Tayyeb…not just for their amazing chicken shawarma, but also for the fact that, somewhere in there is a Nokia fan, whose collection I am deeply appreciative of….
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
