Red6 is a comfortable coffee shop in al-Barsha South. Located on the ground floor of the Platinum Tower, its interior is lazy and cosy, with wooden flooring and oversized leather sofas giving it warmth, and even a degree of charm. Well, it certainly has a lot more character than most of its neighbours. Seeking to differentiate itself from the rest of the coffee shop crowd, Red6’s USP seems to be its ethically-traded, organic coffees and teas. These are usually products where you taste the difference with your conscience rather than your pallet. Kudos to the righteous.
Service, on the morning I visited, was represented by a friendly Filipina, who took my order then went on to prepare my coffee. The sandwich and pastries display counter looked well stocked, but I cannot imagine any of the products being same day fresh. Certainly, none looked as if they were made on site. Internet is free though. So, until the big boys start moving into al-Barsha South Red6 has much of the market to itself. The good news is that is isn’t at all a bad place to spend time and enjoy a coffee.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
