I’ve been to BB twice now and still don’t understand what ‘type’ of restaurant it is. Their menu has a definite Asian-Eastern bias, but the décor is anything but Asian. On the subject of the interior, it’s amazing. I love the way they’ve connected all three floors (yes, three floors) with a grand spiral staircase. I love, love, love the blue they’ve used on their walls. I like the lounge bar. And the restaurant.
I love their ramen and pho but find the serving portions infuriatingly small. Pho could maybe get away with a smaller bowl, but ramen is strictly a big bowl affair. I’m not a big fan of Bao either, disliking the thick bun-shell. I would like to try some of their fillings in a soft-shell taco though. If I had to choose a favourite, it would be the Wagyu Beef, which is served with a delicious Chimichurri dressing – it’s amazing.
Service is excellent; friendly, professional, and accommodating. At the end of the day, irrespective of what I believe, BB is making a name for itself. And rightly so, it is a lovely venue to spend time in.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
