Francesco’s is a pizzeria cum café in Barsha South. With so many pizza options available in Dubai today, finding one which offers either something unique or something consistent (or dare I wish for, both) is becoming quite a challenge. I usually fiddle about on the internet for a while and then fall back to my all-time favourite, Maison Mathis. Occasionally, however, something interesting catches my eye. In this case, Francesco’s. I used Deliveroo to order.
My daughter ordered Fran’s Burger Pizza, which is basically a pizza with (supposedly) a burger patty broken up into it. The novelty for us was not the burger but the onion rings – nice.
Tempted by the promise of Italian sausage, Pepperoni and Ricotta cheese, I ordered a Brooklyn Pie. But it didn’t turn out to be anything like what I imagined, the most dominant flavour (for some unfathomable reason) was fennel seed rather than either of the meats. My daughter, however, loved (and finished) her burger pizza.
I was also disappointed with the fact that our pizzas arrived only lukewarm. This, however, is something I need to take up with Deliveroo, not Francesco’s. I must, however, point out, that although Francesco’s pizzas are generously sized, they are p-r-e-t-t-y expensive, these two pizzas cost us AED135. For this money, I’ll stick with Maison Mathis thank you very much.
Waste NOT. Want NOT.
