This second Lock, Stock and Barrel outlet at the Rixos Premium Dubai in JBR is massive, making the original in Barsha Heights look small by comparison. It’s decorated in the same funky style, with standouts of a wall of their trademark speakers, and a well-equipped, purposeful-looking stage in the middle of the main dining area. This is an interior which out rocks the Hard Rock Café. It’s magnificent.
The current resident rock band is called 13 Daze. It’s good but can be a little too extreme at times. I’m an old time hard rocker and enjoyed the opportunity to do a little head banging. The group I was with, however, hated them. I think these boys need to learn to play to a broader audience, keeping the hard-core stuff for their inevitable album.
The food at LSB Barsha Heights is amazing, so I’m assuming the same applies here. We stuck to a gigantic bowl of nachos and chilli, which while good, cannot be representative of anything but portion size.
Service is an LSB strong point and, although the place was packed, it did not disappoint; our server was friendly and attentive. LSB JBR is a fantastic addition to the JBR F&B scene. And now with McGettigan’s also open on the Walk, JBR’ers are really spoilt for choice.
